I'm Mauvia Sorensen, a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) based in Washington State. I earned my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University in 2010 and have 15 years of clinical mental health experience, along with certification as a Trauma Specialist.

My Approach to Care
I believe in a collaborative, nonjudgmental, patient-centered approach to mental health care—one that looks at the whole person rather than focusing only on a diagnosis. My work combines evidence-based therapy with psychiatric evaluation and medication management, allowing treatment to consider both the emotional and biological factors that can contribute to a person's symptoms.
I'm particularly interested in how early life experiences can influence mental health later in life. Adverse experiences during childhood can shape the way we understand ourselves, relate to others, and respond to stress. That perspective is an important part of how I approach care, helping me look beyond current symptoms and consider the experiences that may be contributing to them.
